These curses have spared me until now but every streak must run out and the winds are constantly changing. I have not seen the City from inside before and would have remained merrily in the forest if given the choice.

Do tell, who are you that I find myself bound to, and where am I?

[Have an elf sitting on the floor next to the bed, fully dressed and bow on his back, studying Billy.]

[He's actually mostly awake. He'd be all the way awake if he had more reason to worry about the person he's currently ... handcuffed to? Oh, great.]

Just so we're clear, I'm not into the whole chains thing.

Legolas Thranduilion.

[He's already tried opening the cuffs. It didn't work.]

You are within the chains, just like me and I have not found a way to release us yet. [Language confusion, get. Legolas and modern slang.]

That's not what I ... Never mind.

[Right. Tolkien-speak. Billy can manage. He wonders if Harry has The Languages of Tolkien's Middle-Earth handy in case he needs it. Probably not. Besides, it would be just his luck if the entire book were wrong and he wound up saying, "I'm pleased to lick your warg," instead of "Good morning."]

City curse, I'm guessing.

[Billy runs a hand through his hair to slightly unmuss it, and carefully slides out of bed so that he can sit with Legolas without jerking either of them around.]

I believe your assumption is true, for I was transported here by a strange magic and found myself bound to you.

[Slightly raised eyebrow as he takes in Billy's appearance.]

[Frowns at him.]

What's that look for? It's not like I went to bed planning to wake up handcuffed to an elf.

You simply appear quite tussled.

[He focuses more intently on Billy now.] You are familiar with elves?

[wolfspecialist]

Aragorn didn't have a chance to mention me to you, huh?

[Straightens his T-shirt.]

So you are the one he spoke of. He mentioned that certain people here knew of us though he did not state your name.

[wolfspecialist]

[Beams.]

Yeah. He said we should go hunting some time.

[andmybow]

[What a peculiar person.]

Oh? Are you an archer as well, then?

[wolfspecialist]

[Laughs.]

[Glances at the clock.]

You want some breakfast?

[andmybow]

What, then, made Aragorn suggest a hunt?

[Nods and slowly makes to stand up, giving Billy ample opportunity to get up at the same time so that they won't fall all over each other.] I would appreciate some food.

[wolfspecialist]

I sort of patrol the streets at home with some of my friends.

[Gets up with Legolas, the movement economical, graceful, because some things carry over from running around in a wolf's body.]

We probably have some cereal and toast, maybe fruit. I'm guessing you aren't a fan of Pop-Tarts.

[andmybow]

Streets cannot compare to the forest.

[Notes that Billy at least moves like he knows what he's doing. Legolas is, of course, moving with all the grace of an elf.]

I have not ever heard of nor tried Pop-Tarts. [Tilting his head, curious.]
