Well that's done!
I got my first rejection, form letter today. Thank god that's over with. Now I'm done with waiting and I have my first submission-attempt and rejection under my belt. It'll be a lot easier to submit poetry now.
I know this comes across sounding pretty fake, as though I'm trying to just cover some deeper pain. I'm disappointed, sure, but I had a chance to see some previous issues and I found out the level of experience that most people published in the Berkeley Poetry Review have. Honestly, I would have liked to have had the letter say yes, but surprisingly (and yes, it has surprised me) I don't feel particularly hurt. I'm ready to move on and start writing again. It's been weeks.
I guess this just means you'll hopefully be seeing more poetry on here soon. Good luck enduring it!
