Some people in the "deaf community" don't want to support the use of cochlear implants to solve deafness because they think it's threatening their "culture". What the fuck? Deafness is not a culture; it's a disability. A culture is not based on language alone. If it was, then Americans and English people would be of the same culture when, really, they're not.
Deaf people piss me off sometimes. Well, not all of them. But shit. I'd do anything to hear in my ear. I'd do anything to feel like a complete person instead of a disabled freak.
