Jaebeom had received The Talk from his nervous father years ago; a whole tirade about birds, bees and to always use a condom. He had to sit through ten minutes of constant stuttering before he finally managed to make himself heard and calmly informed his father that they'd already taught him that in school and there was really no need to repeat it.

It was the first and only time he'd witness such a strong look of pure relief on his father's face and he thought that would have been the end of the subject.

He must have jinxed the damn thing.

The Talk was supposed to be about girls and safe sex, not the need for physical contact by your very male bandmate. Apparently 2PM had never gotten the memo and therefor dragged Jaebeom into a situation where Taecyeon had been given the task of holding a lecture for him in how to and how often he must grope the member it concerned.

Fuck.

The living room had never been less inviting.

Taecyeon stood calmly in front of sofa, face schooled in to the rare serious expression that showed none of his piano teeth. In all, it was actually rather frightening to see for those who knew the real him.

Nichkhun had seated himself next to Jaebeom on the sofa as his ally and support, but Jaebeom wasn't fooled. He knew it was to keep him from bolting since no one could bring themselves to punch the Thai prince if he was holding them down. And even if he did he'd be lynched by Nichkhun's fans within 24 hours anyway; they had eyes and ears everywhere.

Junsu had been given the task of keeping Junho busy and away. He'd been ordered to send a text message as soon as they were within close proximity of the dorm to give proper warning.

Chansung and Wooyoung had been smart cowards and fled, not even bothering to make up any lame excuses like having to work. No one would have bought it anyway and the truth was much easier to understand; they simply didn't want to be involved.

Hell, judging by the look on Taecyeon's face Jaebeom didn't really want to be involved either. Nervous anticipation coursed through his veins and filled up his cells with dread instead of the usual oxygen. He had no idea what words were going to come out of Taecyeon's mouth but every fiber of his body were already rebelling against it.

"Think of him as a girlfriend-" Taecyeon started, but never finished his sentence.

Luckily Nichkhun reacted quickly and stopped Jaebeom at the doorway with a firm hand around the wrist. It took a lot of coaxing, even for Nichkhun, to get Jaebeom to sit down again. Relaxing was out of question.

"As I was saying, pretend he's one of those girlfriend's that's not just after your money."

Jaebeom said nothing, only looked at his bandmate with a face of skepticism.

"Okay, so those girls are hard to find in Korea, but I know you dated back in Seattle too. You know, the clingy but not greedy type who always want your attention. If you don't talk to them for a week they'll be convinced you hate them, even if you've been working 20 hours a day."

Jaebeom nodded reluctantly and opted to say nothing.

"I know guys in America aren't supposed to talk about feeling and stuff, but it's a little different here. We don't really talk much about it, but we do things instead."

"Like a hug, a pat on the butt or holding hands. You're obviously familiar with fanservice." Nichkhun added helpfully while slowly letting go of the captured wrist, constantly watching their leader closely for any sudden movements.

"See it as fanservice-"

"If it's fanservice then why are we doing it when there are no cameras around?" Jaebeom argued and sent a wishful look towards the door but looked away at Nichkhun's own reproachful look.

"Because it isn't really fanservice, I just said that to try to make you feel better."

"Well it didn't really work."

"I know, and you're making it more difficult then it has to be. You love us all, right?"

"Maybe not you at the moment, but normally yes. As a straight guy loves six crazy but also straight guys of course."

"Of course. So what's wrong with showing it?"

"I really don't get what the big deal is! Why do I have to pat his butt every day when I can just pat your shoulders once a month for you to be happy?" Jaebeom exclaimed, wanting to run a hand through his hair out of frustration and mentally cursing that his haircut prevented him from properly doing so. At least it looked cool.

"Because he's special. And we'd like hugs a little more often too, now that you mentioned it. A light tap on the thigh can be all that it takes and a simple grope can do wonders to foul moods. We really don't have cooties." The look Nichkhun received was almost enough to melt stone. The Thai prince was completely unaffected, of course. "In Junho's case I suppose it's more the way he's used to showing affection, and in return the affection he knows how to accept wholeheartedly."

"You're getting too deep, come back to us man." The glare Jaebeom received almost made him flinch.

Almost.

That meant he still didn't have to actually agree with them.

"I'm not going to bite him."

Damn it, that was not the point that he wanted to make. It made it sound like he accepted their crazy logic.

"That's good, you'd look ridiculous since you can barely reach his shoulder. It's really Chansung's thing anyway." Taecyeon replied, a slight smile showing that the statement was supposed to be both insulting and lightly teasing.

Jaebeom couldn't really find anything to say after that.

***

It still took two weeks of glaring from all five band members before Jaebeom finally caved in and decided to do something about it. Since he couldn't be 2PM all by himself if he kicked the others out of the group (even if he'd obviously do fine as a solo) he decide to follow their stupid advice.

Junho hadn't actually been moody, but his eye-smiles had been scarce and it had obvious negative effects on the group atmosphere.

For that simple reason he had steeled himself, sat down on Junho's bed and casually slung his arm around said around the other's shoulders and left it lying there. Junho, who had simply been minding his own business by reading a fashion magazine, had given him a hilarious wide-eyed expression of surprise. The eyes had disappeared gradually and by the end of the day they had both laughed until their sides ached.

Jaebeom knew that they had a long conversation that day at very close proximity but he can't remember a fucking word he said and frankly the blank scares him a little. The only thing he remembered afterward is how beautiful Junho's smiling face was up close.

So maybe creeping up on another guy while only wearing boxers wasn't the straightest thing to do, but it was at least original.

His own thing.

And most importantly, Junho's smile always returned.

Maybe he started for group morale, to be a good leader and all that shit. He also did it to try keep a hold on his own sanity a little longer, but those at first necessary reasons to excuse his own behavior soon left his mind and he couldn't bring himself to miss them.

The sanity thing had stopped working somewhere along the line anyway.
