If populations of animals fluctuate according to their environments, why do not populations of humans do the same? Whether in society, business, industries, humans are just animals with no controls.
We need controls desperately. Without nature to serve as our overmind's parent, we do the equivalent, of a species, of sitting up all night long eating candy and not preparing for school/work in the morning. And of course there's hell to pay the next morning, and it seems sometimes that most of our industry is built around mitigating the damage of "the morning after". When it would be so much easier to not allow industry to be our enablers. Why not just go to sleep at night?
