I got cast this week in a musical I have wanted to do ever since it first opened on Broadway decades ago - I will be playing Liliane LaFleur in "Nine" at ICT Mainstage in July-August. It's a role that is right up my alley; I get to do a cheesy French accent, get a few laughs, be sexy and sing and dance the fabulous "Folies Bergeres" production number. I'm also excited to finally be working with a friend I adore, Michael Serrecchia, who will be directing (for those of you into Broadway trivia, he's the original "Boy with Headband" Frank in "A Chorus Line"). I only know that Donald Fowler, a friend who I've directed and performed with at Uptown Players, is playing Guido Contini, but I don't know any of the other women who've been cast yet.
I will jump into those rehearsals immediately after "Facts of Life: the Lost Episode" opens next week on June 13. And as soon as "Nine" closes, I start directing "Legends" for Uptown. Something tells me I'm not gonna finish unpacking and fixing up the new condo until Thanksgiving at this rate!!!
