My life as a television show

BIG BROTHER 06 IS OVER

And that’s probably a very good thing. Now my life can go back to being reasonably normal and not dictated by stupid, frivolous television shows. Honestly, I am slightly embarrassed by how caught up I’ve become in it, especially near the later end of the season. I can’t believe the nights I’ve stayed up until one o’ clock in the morning watching BB Uplate because I haven’t had anything better to do. Because let’s be serious: who needs sleep? It’s ridiculous *shakes head*

I was even crying when David got evicted. Not because I particularly liked David - I didn’t have anything against him but I wasn’t rooting for him overly much either - but mostly after he gave that whole speech about how happy it made him to be accepted for who he was as a gay man, and that he hoped him coming on the show would help other homosexual people come out about their sexuality. And then later when he was expressing all the fears he had about his boyfriend from before the show maybe not still feeling the same way he did, and then they were reunited onstage and they hugged for forever and were so obviously in love *wipes tear away*

And I am happy Jamie won. Even though I voted for Camilla. Shh. Don’t tell Hanusia! He’s awesome, apart from his way-low pants and weird smells.

EDIT: This is sweet. Article underneath the cut.

BB's David wants to marry boyfriend

Big Brother evictee David Graham, who used the reality TV show to announce he is gay, wants to marry his partner Sharif in a civil ceremony.
David, 26, was ousted from the reality show on Sunday night, leaving two original housemates, Camilla and Jamie, to battle it out for the sixth series.

After 99 days in the Big Brother compound, the Queensland farmer said he was ecstatic to see his 24-year-old partner again.
"This is the man I am going to marry," David told AAP on Monday.
"We are intensely in love and it's not a fleeting infatuation, it is the most incredible thing I know of and anyone in my family has ever seen ... pretty intense."
The lovebirds were reunited on national television, following a live double eviction that attracted a national viewing audience of 1.5 million people.
James 'Max' Panabianco, 20, was also ousted from the house.
During his early days in the Big Brother house, David revealed to his housemates - and family and friends watching the show - that he was gay.
He had kept his sexuality secret from all but a handful of close family members. Even his 74-year-old father did not know.
"I thought it could destroy my family, but instead it has made my whole family," said David.
"Every dream has come true, plus ten fold."
He said he had thought his father would just tolerate it, adding: "He was more than tolerant, more than accepting, he was supportive last night beyond my imagination."
David said he and Sharif were planning a future together.
The passionate pair met at this year's annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival, one month before David entered the Big Brother house.
"He definitely insinuated through our chats last night that he wants to move to the farm and definitely wants to spend his time with me," he said.
"There are no questions there."
While their time together had been short, David said there was no mistaking their strong bond.
"We only knew each other for a short time ... but you just know," he said.
"I would say we are two halves that have finally come together."
No state in Australia currently recognises gay civil unions.

(That's because the Australian government is full of homophobes ;[ )
