Movie Review: Memento....and Guy Pearce pic spam

Ok, so when I started this journal I didn't think I would be posting a lot of movie reviews, but at this point, what can I say? Films are my absolute favorite things in the world. Today, after spending some much needed time with my little cousin we decided to FINALLY get around to watching Memento. I know, were about 8 years too late, but hey were trying to catch up ;).

Ok, here's my review of this film...along with some yummy Guy Pearce pics!

Alrighty, first things first. This film was AMAZING. I really loved it.For those unfarmiliar with the plot, it's about a guy who has anterograde amnesia (pretty much he can't make new memories) and is trying to find out who murdered his wife. Because he tends to quickly forget everything he's learned he has take pictures of everyone and tattoos notes on his body.

The film instantly becomes confusing because the story is basically told completly backwards, from end to beginning and it has an excellent little twist at the end which can leave you with a serious "WTF?" moment, but it is fantastic! Great acting by Guy Pearce and the supporting cast (especially by "Teddy" though I can't remember the actors name) makes this an all around great movie to watch. I must say I think Chris Nolan (whom at this point I expect nothing but greatness out of) really did a fantastic job of this film. As it appears to be his style, he really takes his time in meticuously developing the story.

*SPOILER* *SPOILER* *SPOILER* *DO NOT READ THE NEXT PART IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN IT*

I have to say that the absolute favorite thing about this film for is the twist at end which makes you feel almost a sense of disappointment from Leonard. The whole film you're thinking "Man he's so noble. He has amnesia yet he still goes through all this to find his wife's killers" but then you find that he's actually a bad guy too, and that he may have even been the one to kill his wife by accident?! And why did he chose to target Teddy as his next John G? Was it really just a game for him by then?

*SPOILER END*

OK well, overall I DEFINITELY recommend this film. Watch it, learn it, love it, and watch it again. And here's an insentive with some pictures of sexy Guy Pearce from the movie...I don't know what it is but I've always found letter tattoos to be absolutely hot! :D
