Another reason why Michigan sucks

Apparently the fiscal year is closing and the governor is convinced that shutting down all non-essential state departments are to shut down effectively at midnight on Sunday. This includes Secretary of State offices, parks and recreation departments, and road commissions.

The only vital state functions, according to Granholm, are education and police/prison programs.

This is what happens when you can't find 1.75 billion dollars...but this worries me, because we aren't really sure when this is going to be done. I hope it isn't going to last forever...because at some point, I would like to get my driver's license.

I never thought that we would have a nearly full governmental shutdown like this. It's very interesting. Unfortunately, I don't have time to hash it over, because I must flee to go off to work. Whoopie for me.
