Some things that have happened lately that don't have anything to do with the most amazing man in the world:
1. My parents and sister went to visit the relatives in Iowa last week so there's been a lot of quality time spent with the puppy. I don't really know why women want boyfriends; Quiglers loves me unconditionally and licks my hand every time I walk in the door. Do men do that? I don't think so. Anyway, the fam returns to the homestead tomorrow, so ends my peaceful stint as mistress of the house.
2. Amber went on vacation to see her family in Utah for her birthday so I've had to pick up some of her hours. Working retail should not be this stressful. She returned yesterday and hung out with me during my break. Good to have her back.
3. Last Friday Whitney came over after an especially bad day at work and we drank girly beer and she cut my hair. In that order. Probably not the wisest decision, but the hair looks good and she didn't charge me anything.
4. I FINALLY found a decent bra! Women tell me that their boobs stopped growing for the most part around 18 or 20, but my girls are eating too many Wheaties or something. Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to find a decent bra in my ginormous size? And I know this will sound like I'm bragging to many of you, but try putting up with these things for a few days and let me know how well you like them then... anywho, this was a great accomplishment and I am proud.
5. I watched "Brokeback Mountain" the other night. I thought it was good. Tastefully done. I also watched "Shopgirl." I liked it a lot, but I have some issues with the plot... it seems to be a romance written by a man (Steve Martin) that tries to tap into the female psyche but really just doesn't quite get it- but then, why am I surprised? Futher evidence to support my theory of adopting a pet as my life partner rather than doing this whole man thing.
6. I think I might have an eye infection. I've been wearing my one-month contacts for about three months now because I can't really afford to go get more... God bless retail wages.
And now for the Roger update, which isn't really an update, but I haven't written about him yet and I feel kind of bad about it, like I'm ignoring him or something, which I would TOTALLY never do because if I were to ever decide to give up my dog-in-place-of-man theory it would be because Roger proposed or something... right, that update. He's playing a tournament right now in Halle, Germany which is on *insert Handel's Hallelujia chorus* GRASS!!! That's right, gents, the clay court season is done at last! Who else can't wait to see that magnificent backhand on its favorite surface again?! Oh, that's right, only me. What I really wanted to put in my update is that I'm going to take a break from writing about Roger for this tournament because I'm still pretty emotionally drained from the French and because the English version of the Halle website is pretty crappy and doesn't give the daily schedule of play and I'm too lazy to take 2.5 minutes to brush up on my German enough to find it on the more complete German version. Actually, I can't stand not knowing when he's playing and I never forgot enough German to not be able to understand a site like this, so I will probably follow his progress diligently... but I'm still emotionally drained. I also suspect that no one reads my posts anymore except for
rampantwhistler because she likes tennis, so perhaps if I act more like a normal human being then people will start reading again. Perhaps. We shall see.
ANYWHO, kids, I have stuff to do still tonight and more to do tomorrow morning- and we all know how well mornings and I get along- so I should get started.
