And I am woefully unprepared.
24. Betaing: How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your fic? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story?
Betas. The best thing that ever happened to me. It depends on the story, but often I don’t use a beta (and then realize I should have). I have used up to two, but usually only one. My dream story? I was on theforce.net, and had talked about someone’s fic. Another girl answered me, and said she’d tell me all the things wrong with the fic, why it didn’t work for her, in a private message. I agreed, and when I got it, I realized that she’d make a great beta. And she has, because she’s the reason it’s taken so long to write Haunted (seven years, or more), because she’s told me, twice, “this part is too complicated. You need to take it out.” I wanted to rip my hair out, but she was right. What can I say? Another one - I asked for anyone to help with a crossover, to make sure I hadn’t put too much in, or left too much out, and that led me to one of my best friends.
