When did it become perfectly natural to hear Korean music?
For some reason, it just hit me. I'm listening to one of my favorite songs, and just realized that I can't really understand most of what they say...
And it's perfectly normal.

At least half of my ipod now is in a language other than English.

I don't know. I know that I have a lot of non-English songs. But it was this weird...
I don't know how to explain it. When Maggie was born and walking around, I'd have these strange... paradigm shifts? in which I would go "Holy crap, I'm married, and I have a child!" I finally stopped having them after Elyssa was born.

See, those paradigm shifts make sense. This one, not so much.

It's true. It's just such a weird thing to think, you know? It was just... odd.

I don't know. It hasn't hit me yet. But this is making me realize it. I don't understand any of the stuff I'm listening to either. I was just listening to SJ-M's song 'In My Arms' and singing along to it and I kept getting strange looks from my family, and not knowing why until a little bit later. I was singing in Mandarin, so it's kinda...you know? English is pretty much all I know, minus random phrases across the language board.

I speak (spoke?) German fairly fluently, but this is none of that.
And I listen to operas, and that's okay, too, because I expect that to be in a foreign language. But pop music? Not so much.
