*Sigh*

Today is one of those days that instead of listing what I need to do, I need to list what I have done.

The first thing I did was decide that I am not going to do the “New Years Eve 12”; it’s causing more stress than it’s worth for me, and so it goes out the door. Maybe next year I’ll be less stressed, and I can do it then.

The rest of the morning has looked like this:
Read one chapter in the Book of Mormon

Read three chapters in das Buch Mormon, which means I only have yesterdays and todays chapters to read so I’m caught up.

    Breakfast for the girls

Emptied the dishwasher, and began to refill it

Got the roast out of the fridge and into the crock pot (there’s a HUGE story behind that)

    Straightened the family room

    Exercised

Called to cancel Tues. and Thurs. dinners for Wrights.

I realize this looks a little like bragging, but I’ve been feeling a little like a failure as a mother and a housewife lately. So, yeah, maybe it does look like it, but there are days I just need to see what I have accomplished.

Yesterday’s list included:
Washing everything - towels, sheets, clothes, Maggie’s bear, Elyssa’s Lamby

What I forgot to do was straighten the living room (we had guests), start dinner on time - which is where the roast comes in - and clean up the kitchen. Oh, and I didn’t manage to even get 500 words written, either.

So, this afternoon, I’m going to dump the kids on Scott (well, they’ll be napping / in quiet time) and head over to the library. I could have one hour (at least) of uninterrupted writing, take books and stuff back to the library, pick up what I have on hold, and, in general, hopefully, get something done. Well, to specify, get something written.

I figure if I give myself even 1 hour, so I can write for 15 minutes, rest for five, and then go again, I can get at least three good 15 minute sprints in and get some writing done.

I think I might need a file in which I add the things I missed before; I have a very specific method this year, and I keep thinking of things that I want to add. So… I think I’ll do that. How does that sound?

Now I wish it were 1:00, instead of 10:45.

Maybe I can get more done this morning, since the kids are playing so nicely.

to-do list, personal
