And by the way, the Columbus Crew are the least worthy playoff team in MLS. 1 shot in the first half, AT HOME, and you get a goal. Our 10 looked better than the Crew's 11 until they got tired, and we still barely missed equalizing. I hate the fact that playing 5 defenders and only one true forward is working for them. And, if what Nelsen said is true, Marrufo booked him the first time for simply pointing out that Martino had been taking dives. I guess he felt like making up for when he didn't send off Prideaux? Make up calls don't really count when they're against a different team...a year later. Not only that, he booked Esky for the crime of falling down and accidentally clipping someone's heels, putting him on suspension.
If Moreno's injury is serious, I will instantly lose my confidence about the team, because he's that damn important. I think we'll make the playoffs regardless, because the Revs are utter crap, but what more? The only good thing is, at full strength, we can beat anyone in the East. Without Moreno, I don't know if we can get past anyone over 2 games. This Saturday in the Swamp is going to suck...no Esky, possibly/probably no Moreno, and who knows what else. This end-of-season stretch is more stressful than last year, but for different reasons. Last year was more of a death march, knowing we'd probably get in but also knowing that we were playing some of the worst soccer DC has ever seen. We look a lot better now, but that means the demands are higher. The minimum goal, to me, was for us to advance past the first round of the playoffs. Watching Moreno grimace on the sidelines was like watching Ben Olsen come off hurt last year against the metrofuckers...the catalyst of all we've done well lately, now hurt, and you don't know how bad. Ugh.
