Okay, well I think I left you all hanging long enough.
The new member of my family is not actually human-though as an obligation to caring/feeding/housing a human child only lasts eighteen years, I consider it on par with the THIRTY years I just signed up for.
My new baby is an Olive Python. That’s right, six meters, eighteen feet and thirty years of snake. The second largest species of snake in Australia-dwarfed by the Amethyst python; who unlike olives, bite are generally difficult to handle. I dunno about you, but I wasn’t willing to sign up for eight meters of snake that was going to bite.
I handled the new baby yesterday, but despite taking a camera failed dismally to take a picture of her. Actually, we have no idea what gender he/she is, but I assume it’s one of the regular two.
She’s the sweetest snake I’ve ever held and physically smoother and softer than anything I’ve ever touched before. And I’ve touched mink. A bit tank shy at the moment, but not as bad as Ishida was and I cured him of tank shy-ness in 24 hours.
I can’t wait to take photos to show ya’ll. Also: names.
I have three, two male, one female I am considering. But without a gender, I’ll go for any. I want votes and/or suggestions. The three I am considering are:
Giovanni
Katika
Aquillis
(Yes, they are what I was going to call my children-also, Evie, but Evie is already called Evie and I don’t need a cat, snake AND child called Evie at some point.)
