This is ridiculous. Can't we reference a pair of opposite concepts without having to portray them as symbolically making war? You don't get any points for originality, Sphere, by having the uniforms consist of either no color or all of the colors.

I'm wearing grey, for what it's worth.

[ Okay, this just doesn't get responded to at the same time as the others, because he sits and thinks about it for a while. ]

I probably will.

It's just a guess based on what my station in life had been. It would be very difficult to be the master mage of an entire country without being old; the apprenticeship alone might take decades.

People here seem a bit more relaxed about how they come across, in general. I keep expecting them to be more judgmental, as well.

What do you mean, it doesn't exist?

The same thing happens to me when people talk about religion. There's nothing that can be explained by the theory of divine intervention that can't be more sensibly explained using the laws of magic, or physics, or some combination thereof. "Some god did it" is really just shorthand for, "I have no idea how that happened."

Magic is really sort of the same. It's a label that we use to categorize certain kinds of phenomena that cannot presently be explained by our knowledge of the physical sciences. I like to think that it's not as handwavey as religion can be, but to someone of a more scientific bent I'm sure it seems that way. Anyway, I don't doubt that someone will eventually find another way of explaining it, and then it won't be called magic anymore.

That's essentially what I just said. I don't think it matters if you want to call it magic or highly advanced science, so long as you aren't going to try and say that it doesn't happen.
