I had since devoured many philosophy books from the library, and it seemed that most philosophy was petty argument about things you just couldn’t know. I thought: Why waste time on insoluble problems? What does it matter whether the soul is made up of smooth, round soul atoms or of Lego, it’s unknowable, so let’s just drop it. that's so true. i think there was a time when i took it all to heart and thought i had to have a rationale, and searched desperately to find it, but for now it's just the pure analytical joy of it - to not be so attached to an idea is a liberating thing.

Have to agree. I do so love it, and especially this book where it's woven all the way through, but that was always my issue I suppose, that these formulas and theories being presented as objective truth were really just our fears and desires reorganised and articulated in an intelligent manner. Still wont stop philosophising and reaching for the abstract, but all with a grain of salt.
