Haven’t been very sociable lately - had some serious trauma at home. A couple of weeks ago my 16 year-old daughter was out with her father at a function to celebrate his ‘local’ being open for one year. She ran around to the back of the venue to chase a ball one of the other kids had thrown and as there were about 100 people there no-one noticed she was missing. She was hit over the head, knocked unconscious and raped. In the rounds of HIV/pregnancy/std tests and counseling there hasn’t been much time for me to jump online. I’m coping, but only just… In the meantime the antiretrovirals are making her as sick as a dog, and she’s not sleeping…. The police “can’t do anything because we don’t have a suspect”! All we know is that it was an English-speaker because he wrote “Thank you” in pen on her stomach.
What a fucking mess!!!
The initial tests came back negative, but need to be redone in mid-April again. So, if anybody has any spare positive thoughts and prayers, they will be very welcome. And please, when you are out with them, make sure you keep an eye on your kids at all times, no matter how safe you feel a place is.
