Hey, Senpai! The ring came off!

[The feed runs for quite a while. There's the sound of some awkward shuffling and nervous tapping, even the tinny sound of music blaring from his headphones. When there's no response over the feed after roughly seven minutes, Yosuke speaks again.]

Senpai...?

the marriage is over, senpai... i... i...

I don't mean to pry...

[He totally does]

...but out of curiosity, what sort of ring are you talking about?

[Yosuke sounds a little fidgety when he speaks, as though he's just running his mouth to keep his mind off something.]

It's a wedding ring - if you can call it that, I guess. Some faery pranked yus - me and Saki-senpai - and said we were married, and that we couldn't take the rings it forced on our fingers off. We couldn't, so now that it can come off, I figure the dumb spell is over, you know?

Ah. I have a friend to whom rings are significant. I merely wondered if your situation was connected to his.

[Oh he just babbled all that out and the other guy wasn't even thinking about it. Whoops.]

Oh...

Well, no. It's was just me and Saki-senpai.

I understand, and I withhold judgment about your apparent orientations. I'm not bothered by allusions to romance.

[The weirdness of that statement stuns him out of the worry, momentarily.]

... Dude, what?

[That... happens a lot. When L thinks he's being sociable he's usually just being bizarre.]

There must be a reason the Fae chose to play that joke on the two of you in particular...

He said we were acting like a married couple. [Now he sounds a bit huffy. 'Orientations', what?]
