The apartment Ford and Eddie found wasn't small by any right. In fact, just the opposite. It was a newly vacated penthouse. The previous occupant had been murdered. While this was gruesome and unfortunate it meant the apartment itself wasn't as expensive as it could be and it came fully furnished. Who was Ford to say no to some dead guy's sloppy seconds?
He was just happy to get out of that hotel room.
Their final night, Ford gave Eddie what he had promised, the hotel hot tub empty until about four AM when a young Newlywed Couple asked if they could join them. Luckily, the two men had slipped their swim trunks on and the couple didn't ask why Ford was sitting against Eddie. The wife found them cute and only hoped she and her husband would be that cute in a month.
Nonetheless, moving day wasn't such a big deal considering each men had a bag of stuff.
"Uhh," Eddie said, coming out of the bathroom that connected to their bedroom. "The front of the cabinet is off its hinges," he said, using his thumb to point back. Ford stood there, dropping his back, sighing.
"Okay..."
He and Eddie spent the afternoon picking up linens, sheets, and a tool kit, as well as a week's worth of groceries. Dropping the bags in the kitchen, Ford turned back to Eddie. "So, I can put this stuff away. Can you work on the cabinet," he asked, handing Eddie the tool kit and scissors to open it with. He even flashed his boyfriend a smile, Eddie melting into a begrudging yes.
An hour later, both Ford and Eddie were on the bathroom floor attempting to fix the front of the bottom cabinet.
"It may just be me," Ford said. "But, I'm kind of sick of this," he added, looking up at Eddie who was sitting against the bathtub.
"You're not the one whose head's this close to the toilet," Eddie shot back, crawling over. Instead of attempting to help Ford, he climbed ontop of his boyfriend, laying down, his eyes closing. Ford's eyes lowered as he laughed. Setting down the hammer, Ford sighed and laid back, bored of what he was doing and very comfortable.
"We'll hire someone," he said, resting his arms around Eddie.
