So yesterday I was with babies all day, well from 8-6! I helped my cousin with her one month old baby boy twins. She wanted someone to go with her to the doctors after no one in her immediate family could, and I was really ecstatic that she asked me to! I got up super early (for me) and got there with time to spare. She had been up since a little after 6AM preparing to take the boys out for their 10AM appointment, ha. It's truly amazing how she does it. I feel like I barely helped her out, but I do see how going to the doctors carrying two car seats would have been difficult, or even if she were to put them in the stroller it'd be hard to maneuver around, that thing is HUGE ('cause it holds the 2 car seats in them)! Her husbands car that we took acted up on the way home though, we had to pull over. Underneath the steering wheel and in front of my passenger seat was smoking! Apparently there's a leak in the coolant hose and it has to be replaced but it's a huge job 'cause you have to take out the engine to do it. It smelled awful and we were really scared for the twins but the gas station mechanics said it'd be okay to drive it home but that's it. I was really bummed out for her and her husband, I mean now they don't have a good working car and were sharing it and are going to have to buy a new one or pay the one grand to fix it, just another financial burden that they really can't have. At least her husband can ride the metro to work though.
Those babies go through diapers, bottles, and clothes like crazy. Just before we took them to the doctors Corey (the one minute older one) peed twice, on himself and then on Celinda (his mama, my cousin) as she was changing him. It was kind of hilarious but I know it happens all the time. I changed each one only once, 'cause it would take me forever. I loved feeding and burping them though, then putting them in the activity gym and humming them to sleep. SO FREAKING CUTE. By 3PM I was beat and Celinda zonked out for a half hour or so with one baby sleeping next to her on the couch, and I was just dozing in and out. It was funny, we both woke up surprised that we had fallen asleep but not really. I then hung around for another feeding and changing till Mike (her husband) got into the metro station so Celinda could use my car to go pick him up. They're so funny together (Celinda and Mike). They're both really talkative and friendly and chill, like it makes so much sense that they're together, and are constantly cracking on each other in the little ghetto way they do, you'd have to hear them talk to each other or rant to get it, ha. Afterwards I headed to my aunts house for some good eatin'.
Overall it was really a memorable, good day, and I can't wait to be with the boys and Celinda again. I just hope I can step it up more next time. I'm really tired today too, I don't know how she does it. Also I am even more not wanting kids of my own now, ha, I mean why would I if FOUR of my friends are pregnant, and my cousin has baby twins who I can take care of here and there, I don't need my own, and I don't think I ever will, my friends and family will keep having babies I'm sure, haha.Oh yeah and a baby daddy would be necessary too, and that's NOT happening, hahahha.
On another note, I was supposed to go to New Orleans with LL and her BHC group on Friday for a week and 2 days but now I am torn. Nick is getting baptized on Sunday, and even though I've been very far removed from the church and religion for a long time now, I still would like to support my baby brother, and he's really upset that I was even like "I'll see." to him, almost to the point of being a jerk, and guilt-tripping me like crazy, which was a little unnerving but yeah, I don't know what to do. LL on's the phone right now, so we'll see!!!
