I'm sure we can all imagine how upsetting it to is accidentally put something personal out in public like that. The people here may not all be from the same world, but it doesn't change the fact that we're all still people. [She gives him a small smile; warm, if not a little reserved.] None of us can make justify making fun of you.

Besides, almost everyone I've met in this place have all been very polite and sympathetic.
