In response to inquiries how I'm doing -- I'm okay, pretty much. My incision is making the doctors happy, and it doesn't hurt more than I would expect, and the pain meds are doing a good job of making it completely manageable. I did my own walking yesterday and a bit on Sunday, so I feel pretty confident about being mobile once I go home tomorrow. I won't be able to drive for a few weeks, but that was expected. Emotionally I'm tired, and mostly pretty optimistic. Of course I'm also worried out of my mind as well, but usually I can talk myself out of that. My milk is coming in pretty well, which helps some since it makes me feel as though at least I can do a little bit of /something/ to help. She won't start taking any of it for a few days yet, and then they'll just give her the smallest possible amounts, but we're saving every drop for her and it helps me feel slightly better, at least. I'll get released tomorrow, and then we'll start driving up to see her for the next few weeks until our house goes through.

Grace is doing pretty well, as of last night. We watched them do a blood test on her, which was kind of heart-wrenching since they had to collect a whole lot of blood, which they ended up taking from a pinprick in her heel. It wasn't that much blood, really, but she's so small it took quite awhile to collect the required amount, and I'm sure she was hating every minute. I know it's necessary, but I don't like to see her in pain. They took her IV out and put a pick line in her other foot also, which is a good step forward even though it also was no fun. Her oxygen is at fairly stable levels, and her jaundice level is good enough that they turned her lights off for now, so we got to see her eyes a little last night. She's ridiculously beautiful.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your care.
