Yes, it's Wednesday already, but I've just gotten around to write up some kind of weekend update.
So basically it rained like Tlaloc had a leaky faucet in the Bay Area. Alex was a bit sick plus being cooped up at home meant one kid who's literally bouncing off the wall.
Fortunately on Monday it was clear enough for us to go to San Francisco's Golden Park. The Conservatory of Flowers there had a small garden railroad exhibit, which Alex quite enjoy. The Conservatory itself was pretty interesting as well. Of note is their collection of Nepenthes carnivorous pitcher plants. They also had all kinds of orchids and other tropical plants.
After the Conservatory we trekked over to the Academy of Sciences, and us being members, we got in scott free. Sadly it was late so their famous cafeteria had closed. Boo! Alex bounced between the glass elevator and fish in the coral reef tank. Oh well, gotta get out some energy that way. For dinner we got In-n-Out for the wife and Amber Cafe (yummy Indian takeout) for Alex and me. I even had leftovers for work yesterday.
So that was the weekend, really. I'm hoping the rain will subside this coming weekend because Alex is going to the grandparents and we're going to the City. Dinner will be at a swanky new place in the Financial district called
Gitane which is like Basque/Spanish/Portuguese/Italian/North African. Should be really cool.
Anyway, it's time to sleep!
