Four Seasons, Four Loves

Jun 16, 2010 20:37

In the height of spring,
Beneath the cherry blossoms,
She looked at me, smiled.
I went to her side.
She confessed her love for me
As pink petals fell.
Pulling me closer
She pressed her lips against mine.
I tasted freedom.
Together we spent
A whole year in three months’ time
And then parted ways.

I will remember
The changing of the seasons
That brought me such love.
As spring turned summer,
Turned to fall, turned to winter...
Four seasons, four loves.

The heavy June rain
Weighed awful on my poor soul,
Turned my world to black.
She came to me then
And offered all of her love.
I greedily took.
Thunder shook the house.
Lightning lit the darkened sky.
Us, oblivious.
Only together
Were we truly safe, until
We killed each other.

I will remember
The changing of the seasons
That brought me such love.
As spring turned summer,
Turned to fall, turned to winter...
Four seasons, four loves.

As green leaves turned red,
Yellow and purple and brown,
She grasped my hand tight.
The living fell dead,
Bodies obstructing our path,
Yet we found our way.
Her breath would warm mind
As her kindness would my heart
And make me feel whole.
Yet like fallen leaves,
She feel far away from me,
Never to return.

I will remember
The changing of the seasons
That brought me such love.
As spring turned summer,
Turned to fall, turned to winter...
Four seasons, four loves.

A blanket of white
Lying thick upon the ground,
So silent and still.
She came like a ghost.
I barely felt her footfalls
Entering my heart.
And she lingered there
As though keeping me from harm,
Shielding me from pain.
And still she remains
Haunting my house and my heart
With her quiet love.

Though I’ll remember
The seasons that brought me love
In so many forms...
I will let them go,
Let them fade into the black
And embrace this love.
As spring turns summer,
Turns to fall, turns to winter,
I’ll embrace this love.
