ah yes, so much has transpired since my last entry.
to recap: began the masters in the fall and escaped with good grades (two As and a B); switched to the BSN to PhD track in the spring and ended up with fair grades (one W and three Bs).
the highlight of the spring semester was being able to see clients in the actual psych setting. much as i spent most of the term shadowing my preceptor, we were able to identify two clients who i now see one-on-one for individual therapy. i also attended the Southern Nursing Research Society's conference in birmingham last february and presented a student research poster. that was an interesting endeavor. that same poster won first place at the college's research day on campus in march. yay!
i decided to bank some clinical hours over the 12-day break between semesters. julian flew to gainesville on thursday, may 8, to spend mother's day weekend with me (and celebrate my 49th in advance). james came up on friday (so did beamer, the miao). we spent friday at mary's and did a korean summer roll dinner there, then it was off to gainesville for the rest of the weekend. did the advance celebration by having dinner at bonefish grill (i had lobster and the boys had chilean sea bass). everybody was happy with their food. went to the 11:30 mass at st. augusting church with julian, then took him to jacksonville on sunday afternoon. james left for miami after that. suddenly, it was empty nest time again...
summer class started on monday. turned 49 on tuesday. michele and amada took me to the main dragonfly for an early dinner. had korean spareribs with a bowl of rice. yummm. ria sent me a package of goodies. kince sent his package early on. received greets on facebook, gmail, and phone. that went well.
a few issues in manila cropped up that same week. talked to marco. tried to fix things. had an epiphany. talked to dr. rowe and sunny on friday about adjusting my curriculum plan. emailed the dean. have an appointment to see her tomorrow at 1:00 after class. i hope she is amenable to the change. we will see...
