100 things: Spellbinding Anime - Black Butler

I just stumbled upon this on Netlfix, it looked appealing as it was set in the victorian era London. I began watching it with no judgments and found it an interesting series. I wouldn't recommend this for younger viewers due to the dark elements and blood. That being said so far I've enjoyed the series and would recommend it to anyone who likes the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger (Yes this is a series of books that's on the list for 100 things).

The series focuses on one hell of a butler Sebastian Michaelis. He's a demonic butler who is bound by a supernatural contract to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the thirteen-year-old head of the Phantomhive noble family and the business-savvy owner of the Funtom company, a toy manufacturer. In return Sebastian helps Ciel with all his tasks, which include avenging his parents death. Ceil's part in the bargin is that he's agreed to let Sebastian devour his soul. This bargain begins the night of Ciel's tenth birthday when a fire engulfed the manor.

Ceil returns a month later with Sebastain, he is an exceptionally loyal servant and is ever at Ciel's side, ready to carry out his young master's wishes. As the Queen's guard dog and standing at the top of the British underworld, the young boy must face many difficulties along the way. But Sebastian isn't the only servant at the Fantomhive manor, there's Mey Rin, Baldroy, Finnian and Tanaka. They only appear to be inept we later learn that appearances are very deceiving. Sebastian picked all four of them for a reason. Ceil is well protected and is quite used to dealing with things much darker than most of London knows of.

Ceil and Sebastian are quite used to dealing with Reapers, Werewolves, Ghosts, Angels, cursed objects and other supernatural things while still dealing with Mob bosses and did I mention that the thirteen year old Earl has a fiancée? This all takes place just in Season 1 alone like I said I could easily see Alexa Tarbotti and Lord Macon easily fitting into this anime.
