porridge bread

This is my new go-to breakfast bread before rising. And it's a good thing I took this picture because I ended up burning the top of the bread. We make the Irish oats for breakfast fairly often and have lots leftover. Plus this bread is so delicious. It's probably my favorite recipe from the King Arthur Flour book so far. This morning I was tempted to use more white whole wheat but decided against it. The bread already has two different whole grains in it, so I figured it's ok to use a little white flour.

I made butter toffee cookies on Sunday for my brother's housewarming party. I have been wanting a Corningware Bake and Broil tray to make cookies, but so far I haven't seen any in the thrift stores. I also made sinigang on Saturday night. So I've cooked a few things but haven't taken any pictures because we have had family staying with us for a few days. I also got called in to work Monday so I've been really busy lately. I had tons of fun with my relatives, but they left this morning, so I am trying to get back to my routine. I'm going to marinate dinner, so I'll be posting a picture of that tonight.
