chocolate chip cookies

I made chocolate chip cookies using this recipe on Savory Sweet Life. This was my first time using a recipe from the site so far as I can remember, but my memory isn't that great.

The cookies were tasty. I used table salt and estimated the amount of chocolate chips; I overdid it a little, but that's okay. I also thought about adding walnuts, but I generally like to try recipes as given before making adjustments. Next time I will probably use a little less chocolate and add walnuts in the batter. This one's a keeper!

On a side note, I started reading George R. R. Martin's series A Song of Ice and Fire. {Sidebar: Normally I don't like to start a series of books unless it's finished so I don't have to impatiently wait years for the latest installment to be released, but I was at the airport desperate for a book, so I picked up A Game of Thrones. I had seen the first season on HBO and thought I would enjoy the books.} The author spends a lot of time talking about the food that the characters eat, and it always sounds delicious. While at Barnes and Noble, I stumbled upon A Feast of Ice and Fire: The Official Game of Thrones Companion Cookbook and had to give it a whirl. Actually, I stumbled on the unofficial cookbook first and then later saw the official one, which seemed better. What I really wanted was the recipe for the lemon cakes that Sansa is always eating, but I'm really excited to try a lot of these recipes.
