chocolate-dipped strawberries 06:27
I made these chocolate-dipped strawberries following
this recipe on
King Arthur Flour. The recipe is super easy, and they turned out looking great! I did get a little excited and tried to drizzle dark chocolate on the white chocolate, but it didn't turn out quite like I imagined. Oh well, I put those on the bottom layer of the gift basket. I also learned that white chocolate burns in the microwave, so I had to start a new batch because I couldn't get the burnt bits out of the first batch.
I hope the recipients like them! ...If they don't, I'll eat them.

I went to target today for some essentials and decided to poke around in the garden section a bit. I was looking for a new pot for my Meyer, but I found these Burpee seedling pots. Instead of pushing the Floridor outside early, I decided to put it in one of these pots instead. It can be planted directly into the dirt, so hopefully it won't suffer from shock once I transplant. I thought the pots would also be useful for getting rid of excess plants, which will be necessary if all my eggplants and new squashes survive. I probably could have gotten away with DIYing pots out of newspaper or junk mail, but all of that goes to my worms anyway, so I figured I might as well at less than $2 for 10 pots.
That white fuzzy stuff started forming around my tomato seedling again. I'm guessing the fungus (or whatever) got transplanted with the plant, so I just scooped out all the white stuff and added more soil. I hope that's the last of it, but at least I took action early this time. That's my only tomato seedling, so I really want it to survive. I have plenty of eggplant, and I restarted the squash and jalapeño, but only one tomato.
