Ok, so yes, I did New Year's just like everyone else, and yes, you can have a report. We went to the Zodiac for the 80s prom party. It was quite hard to stick together but I'm sorry, it was ROCKING none the less. Everyone looked in a state of constant glamour and mess - huge hair and atrocious/brilliant make-up (woke up in glitter) - plus the dresses and the shoes, oh my. Such volume. Every fabric was crunchy, more or less. Plastic beads everywhere you turned. And other people were dressed rad too - like someone singing with 'COOL' sunglasses (i.e. you look out of the 'O's of cool), a man with a Wham wig. The music was fab, many a classic. Sorry if I hit anyone. Charlotte's friend Johnny was there and he was too much of an idiot to get to dance with Charlotte so he twirled me and Northey around instead. The boy Patrick tried to call at midnight and two and 3.41 and failed to get through everytime because of loud and unmissable songs. I drank a pint of cocktail that tasted like a mince pie. Emily lost her camera. It was a very sweaty party. Mol's dress was a testament to the French Revolution, Lizzie's had leopard-print leggings underneath. By 3 or 4, everyone had melted away home so Melissa VERY kindly put me & Charlotte up on her sofa underneath blankets. It was lashing it down when we left the club and our shoes felt like fishtanks so Charlotte walked home in gold glitter socks. We watched a film, it was The King & I, but it turned into Pirates and anyway all I got of The King & I was the song about whistling when you're surrounded by fucking scary-looking Siamese guards with sabres.. And wondering, does she know that her dress is as wide as a kitchen table?
And today has been all duvet and laze. Right now I am listening to 'up the bracket' because of you kids.
