instead you should go here: http://www.gigsandtours.com and order tickets for sparklehorse, who are not only touring the uk for the first time since forever but also have a new album coming out!
I can barely cope with the excitment of my favourite band coming to town with new music in tow, i really should go lie down or drink some more tea.

maybe its just me, i've ordered tickets but no one i know is interested. I just love the quirky lyric references and obsession with animals & nature, his life of solitude in the hills of wherever with only the most obscure instruments and his motorbike for company. i just love music that feels like spending too long in the sun: you're still warm to touch but already starting to shiver. Its the same thing with eels records or eliot smith or boards of canada or broken social scene.

ok, so voila, deepdown we're talking about the same thing as I have a BSS ticket that no-one has been interested in because no-one's heard of Broken Social Scene.... and yet.. they have rocked the very foundations of my world.. Maybe it's time to start going to gigs alone and going to the cinema alone and stuff.

I have gone solo at the cinema usually the one off showings of indie flicks and similiar. but haven't been to a gig alone before - I had tickets to see the eels last year and the boy i was going with cancelled last minute so i sold the tickets onto a tout rather than sit by myself - although in my defence i had seen them play 2 months earlier.
After the eels debacle i'm not going to skip seeing bands that rock my world just because no one else wants to go.
