One of the most fascinating places I went to was the Cu Chi tunnels where the Viet Cong masterfully outwitted the Americans during the Vietnam war. It's interesting that back then the Americans considered the Vietnamese to be second class citizins and yet got outsmarted by them.
The layout of the tunnels are ingenius to say the least. They made a lot of them too small for americans to fit into, they set traps everywhere both inside the tunnels and out, everything was perfectly camoflaged, they had a well for water supply and if they needed to clean up they had a tunnel leading to Saigon rivers. They'd get remnants from B52 bombs and use it to make anti tank land mines. Overall so clever and tremendously resourceful.
I had the chance to go into a 90m long tunnel and it was I think 80cm in height and pitch black inside. Define claustrophobic. Oh and you sweat faster and more profusely than you do in a Sauna, no exaggeration.
The photos in the war museum were so heart wrenching everyone walks out silent and at least a little bit depressed.
