hello world !
first up, i have no idea why i have the energy to update now considering the fact that i woke up at about 3 this morning to catch italy vs netherlands. it was a totally cool match. okay i was actually supporting italy (ever since wc06) and when i saw the score and realised it was alr 2-0 i knew they wouldn't win lar. so i switched to netherlands instead hahaha. this euro i predict that i'll never be able to set my heart and mind on just one team. i love them all. (: like for example, i will support the country as long as an arsenal player is playing in it. and countries like netherlands, italy, france, portugal, czech, spain, germany, sweden are all special to me haha. it's a very complicated divided loyalty LOL. like throughout the entire period since i started watching soccer (2002) until now, i've supported these teams before (: like there was totti from italy, pires from france, cocu from netherlands. haha they bring back so much fond memories xD and of cos some other players here and there. alright so yes i'm just going to enjoy the matches =D
italy vs netherlands
i seriously think that netherlands played really really well and italy looked as if they didn't train hard enough. the passes were rather off and the strikers didn't really had any partnership at all. counter attacks were so nice to watch they made my heart beat faster haha. okay anyway, turns out van nistelrooy's goal wasn't offside !
'Even though the Italian defender (Christian Panucci) was off the field because of his momentum, he is still deemed to be part of the game and is therefore taken into considersation as one of the last two defending players. 'As a result Ruud Van Nistelrooy was not nearer the opponents' goalline than the second last defender and therefore could not be in an offside position.' 'This is a widely known interpretation of the offside law among referees but is not generally known by the wider footballing public and indeed many people in football,' he said.
And can u believe it my mom actually spotted panucci and she gave the exact same reason. haha sometimes my mom can be so amazingly clever lol. but ya it makes sense wad since i don't think u can leave the field without the referee's permission.
anyhow, i survived work today and didnt make any errors due to lack of sleep heh. maybe cos there wasn't that much stuff to do also, but we ended up talking most of the time. mun ling and i then decided to bet on the spain russia match! hope i win ((: hurhur. and i bought a book today from borders xD mercy-jodi picoult. this is the first book i'm reading that is by picoult so i'm pretty eggcited XD
random photo i took but i like it so thought i'd share (:
