I want to say thank you, one and all, to all the generous folks who took time out of their busy day to wish me happy birthday. I was lucky enough to receive virtual gifts, posts, private emails and more. You guys certainly know how to make a girl feel loved. I really appreciate it. :-)
In other news, I got to see last Friday's episode of Supernatural, and I really, really liked it! I was a little surprised because I was worried they were going to shortchange Sam's fallen wall. True, they did sorta handwave it away (I'm not entirely sold on the idea of Cas "shifting" the painful bits of Sam's brain away--what does that even mean!?). But I got enough crazy Sam/worried Dean to please me.
My main issue (and I'd written about this on
ash48's LJ) is things were moving along quite nicely in terms of pace and plot development until Cas healed Sam. But from there to the end, everything was truncated so badly, I/we didn't get the full emotional payoff I/we had coming to us.
I wanted to see Sam slowly realize the crazy had left his head, I wanted to see Dean reaction to getting his brother back, I wanted to see both guys interact with now crazy!Cas. I wanted to understand how we went from Sam as patient to Cas being admitted (Did they break Sam out and leave Cas in his place? Did they do it the old-fashioned way and cross all the t's/dot all the i's when it came to paperwork? What happened?). And I wanted to see the conversation between Meg and the guys when it came to her plan. Is she there with their blessing or is this her own clever ploy?
I have a lot of questions, and Supernatural, true to form, seems reluctant to answer them.
One final note--just a reminder,
Redemption is coming off the web this weekend. So if you were thinking of snagging a copy of the PDF, please do so. The story in its new form will be available on Amazon on the first. I'll devote a post to that later this week.
Everyone have a good week. And thanks again!
