If you're like me and, on occasion, you regret clicking on a link to read the story because the writer's got it posted in some kind of unreadable font in light colours on a light background and even using your own style (if you're still in LJ land) doesn't completely solve the problem, weep no more!
There's a smart new bookmarklet in town called
Readability Readability takes those unreadable pages and reformats them within your browser to your choice of several simple layouts: Newspaper, Novel, eBook or Terminal style with different font sizes and margins you can preset. It makes those nasty font choices disappear!
I'd added this bookmarklet to my bookmarks toolbar the other week and didn't have call to use it until today, when I clicked on a story link in one of the communities to which I belong. The font was weird and came out kinda grey, even when I stripped the formatting through the LJ options. So I clicked on my bookmarklet and, boom, a nice easy-to-read page of text appeared before my eyes!
