Day two of working without any heat at the university. The outside temperature is 20. The interior temperature is closer to half of that.
Ah, but today I wore my twill jacket AND I have my shawl (the last is draped fetchingly over my head -- yes, it's a good thing that I can close the door to my office). AND a hot bowl of minestrone.
Still too damned cold, though. The end of my nose feels distressingly chilled. My hands are getting too cold to type. Wish I could work outside in the sunshine, but must process through this bloody awful report. Last day! Last day! Tomorrow we head south and get ready for the Canadian Historical Association and my presentation there. Whee! Vikings! Fancy Dress! Late Victorian Canada!
I know there'll surely be edits for the report suggested by my friendly colleagues when I come back from my trip to the conference. But since someone crashed the server with our email system and our user drives, maybe they'll be too busy working on data recovery to pay attention to my little old report. In any case, I refuse to dwell on those now. Just trying to get this done. Then maybe I can run over to the library to thaw out. I hear that THEY have heat!
