This undid many of the ways I see Holmes's retirement, yet I found it really compelling and complete. Great stuff, and toughly real.

Thanks so much! I realized in revisiting canon for this fic that a lot of the things I've been taking for granted about Holmes' retirement aren't actually *in* canon... so there was plenty of room to play around a bit. :)
