I got my coca plant art

On Friday I got to pick up my 'keepsake gift' for the work I've done on that one project (which is still rearing its ugly head on occasion, but that's a matter for another post). :) It was excellent timing, as I drove to work on Friday (I've been driving whenever the heat index is well over 100F, especially when the air quality is bad). So I got to bring it home without having to carry it for almost a mile. Awesome.

It really turned out well, too. (I would've posted yesterday, but I couldn't upload the pics.)

This morning I started out my workday by finding a dead bat under my desk. We had known there was a bat on the loose since Friday morning, but couldn't find where it had roosted for the day. Apparently it was on the loose all weekend; one woman claims she saw it flying around a bit this morning. Evidently that was its last gasp. It's a good thing I'm not a screamer, let's just put it that way. ;)

Stray Cat has become a menace. He has taken to rubbing up against people's legs, which is fine (but I still can't try to touch him for fear of bleeding, and watching him around other people, it's not just me), but he'll also follow you down the sidewalk, rubbing up against you and crossing in front of your path. My friend was over Saturday evening and left well after dark... I think you know where this is going? She stumbled over him, and he clawed her leg. He's becoming a real menace (and we are probably to blame, at least in part...).

I'll probably call animal control again, but it may be difficult to make sure no one is feeding him -there are at least two other people who are supplying him with food/water. Someone also opened the patio door of the vacant ground floor apartment (it's a half-floor underground, with the railing around the balcony surrounded by shrubbery) enough that he can get in and out, so he even has his own apartment. *rolls eyes*

(Maia is out and wandering the stairwell, and let me tell you, it was hilarious to watch Stray Cat as it started raining earlier. He was pawing the window like, 'Help! There is wet!' Haha, aww, you have your own apartment, you stupid cat. :-p Oh, look, it's starting to rain again...)

I have a bunch of new pictures of Maia, but I'll probably post those tomorrow (our 5-month anniversary). :)

work, rl
