I posted this on shkinkmeme on Sunday, only to realize after the fact that I had made some edits on a print copy that weren't transferred to the electronic version before I posted it. D'oh! So this is slightly modified from what I posted there. I tried to post this last night, but LJ was evidently still having difficulties

Oh, dear! In character to the last, I must say, but I can't help but wish he'd found some way to reconsider. Eeep! Angst in large doses!

This was a good read. I particularly liked the bits with Mycroft. That felt very in believable, that he would understand. Very nice balance between detail and understatement, too.
