omg it's my turn!

I became eligible for the vaccine on Monday, which kicked off a week of frustrating page refreshing and trying in vain to score an appointment. My best hopes seemed to be Wednesday at noon, when a new bunch of appointments for the county's mass vaccination sites became available.

The websites involved in that are really not equipped for the rush of people, haha eep. After an incredibly stressful hour, all the slots were filled and I didn't have one. Then Friday morning one of the faculty emailed everyone that a bunch of spots had just opened up at Walgreens, but of course when I went to look, nothing was available.

In the midst of this, I was also endlessly refreshing the page for appointments at the DMV--my driver's license technically expired on my birthday. They did extend everyone until June 1, but those appointments are almost as hard to get as the vaccine slots, so I knew I'd need to start looking.

Friday morning I finally managed to snag a DMV appointment at a facility that wasn't on the complete other side of the county (i.e. an hour away), and I got it for Tuesday afternoon. Huzzah!

Then, maybe an hour later, I refreshed the Walgreens appointment site on a whim.

OMG I had my *choice* of places AND times!!! \o/

I almost cried, lol. So I'm getting my first COVID shot on Tuesday morning, I'll hit the DMV Tuesday afternoon, and my second COVID shot will be April 27th. !!!!

I have no idea which shot I'll get (the timing of the second dose seems to indicate Moderna, but they might just schedule everyone at four weeks to keep things simpler?), and I 100% don't care. Sure, it would've been nice to score a one-shot deal, but I'm getting it and that's all that matters.

Such a relief, omg. I got a little ring cake at Aldi with my groceries to celebrate. :D
