It's happened to us all ladies and gentlemen, yes that's
right a some point in time or another you too have probably been faced with the
question of 'how are you'
yes that's right, the common question of small talk, but today on 'Let's Talk
It Out' We'll discuss what it really could mean.
Yet, what do people mean when they are asking this?
I personally find it to be more of a preface so that you can ask how they are
doing so they can talk about themselves. It happens.
However, when actually faced with somebody asking if I am ok, I am faced with
another common dilemma. How am I doing...with what? Precisely? The
local sports team? My math grade? My dogs death? My lack of chocolate and
talent? And even if like in most instances they are by some instance
referring to how I actually am and that they care, then, well that's simpler.
In some ways
See, I like all people have a lot of things going on in my head, cause really,
if nothing was going on all the time as they claim, then really... how
would they know what anything else is or even the lack of anything is to know
what isn't?
Chances are I'm not making sense.
[Since I no-longer understand what I'm typing, but I'm still going to hit
'Update Journal' so you can see that]
So really what I'm trying to get at is. Do you really want to know? Do you
really care? When you ask somebody how they are, are you really asking them
that or waiting for them to ask you?
Why not just say, "I'm not feeling so good today cause my dog
died..." or "I'm feeling swell cause I passed on my math
test..."
Sure it may seem weird at first, but it could be good.
Shouldn't we say what we think outright rather than wait around for somebody
else to ask it? 'Cause it's not polite? Jesus. Advertising paper which people
wipe their tooshes on public television isn't exactly a novel polite concept
however we think nothing of it... Why think anything of this?
It's not like we're saying, "Guess who just got the stall with the
DOUBLE-QUILTED stuff!"
