Oh, he possibly knew--kids are known for being horribly observant when you don't want them to be. But considering that he collapsed while playing The World, I'm sure his parents would've gotten rid of that game quickly. Uninstalled. New computer. No computer at all. Something to that extent.

So maybe he just hasn't linked his coma to the Lost Ones' comas because he doesn't know he fell unconscious while playing a game. I'm sure he probably questioned his parents, and they probably stayed mum about it, or they just kept on saying it was some random thing and the doctors never figured out what triggered it. It's possible that his parents treated his curiosity with lots of negative reinforcement, so that he stopped asking questions. (As if, they were trying to keep him away from that game, or games in general. Why else would he start playing "The World: R2" when he's living alone in his own apartment? If his Dad's the head of a company, I doubt he cares about looking into Ryou's monthly finances that much.)

Also, I'm not sure what I just typed. Kinda tired, so I'm sorry if none of that made any sense. XD Uh.

We know that Ryou hasn't been allowed to play any games before he starts with The World. It's mentioned somewhere (I forget where) that he tried a couple others before The World, but was basically just running through them in order to find one he liked, because this was a new experience for him.

Given his family's financial situation, you have to ask yourself - why does he have a job? He does, of course, but why? With just a part-time job, there's no way he makes enough money to support himself; his family must be supporting him. But if his family is supporting him, why the job?

Only two reasons I can think of ... either his dad insists in order to "build character" or something like that, or else he's taken the job in order to fund his miscellaneous little habits, like his gaming. Which I'm sure his parents would freak about if they knew about it.

I think it's safe to assume that his parents don't know that he's playing.

Yeah, I remember something to that effect about him trying out games.

... I could see the grocery store job as first because his father wanted him to, but then realizing he could use that money without his parents watching his every move. And he took advantage.

Definitely safe to assume. I doubt they know at all.

I'm sure they'd flip if they did know.

Which, of course, means that he's keeping his grades up. If he were suddenly failing in school, that would bring scrutiny from the parental units.

When does he sleep? :D
