So. I think, as of the moment, that my comparatively brief career with EB-Gamestop has come to an end.
As perhaps many of you know, my car and I have not been getting along (slight pun intended) for the last little while. Well, the other day, being New Years, it decided that (like my last significant other), it had had quite enough of me. It gets worse. In what may be the only recorded case of car-suicide, as I was taking it to the car doctor, it exploded itself when I managed to hit a waterpipe access cover.
Perhaps you are thinking, Hey! Don't hit water access ports! Bad Ideas. I thought that too for a moment. Then I realized this means I can not work at Morgan Hill. I have everything i wanted out of that store- which is to say the functional title of ASM- and can now leave.
That does make me a jerk. But think about it: I have no possible way to get to work as of the moment. They pay fair-to-midling SHIT (Ask Andrew, he'll agree), and I had only intended to work there long enough to get Adam up there. Then it was adios Jamie.
...
I think the long story short of this converstion is I no longer have a Car. By-by car. I'll miss you. I had some great time with you, and with Feifei and Anthony, and William and with all the guys from polo that time in Monterey... But those times are at an end.
However, in the course of walking around Hollister today, I remembered the simple joy that comes of not having a bunch of shit and stuff and junk weighing you down. I got to wander around, going grocery shopping for my week at work, and just not caring. It was very nice. Most excellent, even. I'd forgotten how much I used to walk about town before the fiasco that is/was my car...
