Just me and the kitties alone in the apartment for 6 days. Roommate is in Wisconsin.

Got new windows in our apartment, and they did the bathroom window last and at least a week late. Then left a big dusty mess, knocked over the trash can, and threw my shampoos and such all over the floor. So I complained. Now, two days later, they knock on the door at 9 am. In my mind, when I'm asleep and I hear knocking, I try to go back to sleep hoping it's just a dream and whoever it is will go away. Not the case. They get management to open the door with a spare key. So I get up and don't even greet them "We already cleaned it" which is the truth. And then "Here, you forgot your glass cleaner" which they did, a broken can nonetheless, so at this point it's just trash. Then, of course, they proceed to hammer outside my bathroom window as loud as one can be. Thanks for that. And thanks for postponing my shower for the day. Everything in the bathroom had sheet rock residue of some sort on it. And it was all over the floor. I complained to the manager two days ago. Maybe if someone offered to clean it the next morning I would have been ok with it, but you can't live with that all over everything for two days. Did they just expect you to wait and not brush your teeth and shower and use the toilet until they came back? GAH! Zach was more mad than I was (big surprise) so he cleaned it all up himself. Ok so my biggest peeve: they give you a 24 hours notice at least a day before they come in. Ours pretty much said "Clear Choice Windows will be entering your dwelling between 1/07/08 and 1/08/08 between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm" Vague. Ok so as I understand it, a 24 hours notice is applied 24 hours from the time the notice was posted and maybe the specific dates and times listed on the notice. NOT "We are going to post a 24 hours notice and then anytime after then we can just get a spare key and waltz right in" Today is the 10th. 24 hours ago was the 9th. I did not get a notice then, and if you knock on someone's door and they don't let you in OR don't answer it, that doesn't mean come right in just because you have a key. I think they know not to mess with me now. My face did not hold a smile at any time they were in my apartment. Oh and when they were working on the living room windows, they just went ahead and lit up a few cigarettes and left the butts on the carpet for us to clean up.
"We will be entering your dwelling between the dates of 1/10/08 and 1/10/09 between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm to potentially ruin your day. Thank you!"
