She hadn't given him any send-off at all. Hardly spoke to him. Didn't kiss him. Just lay there and expected him to lie there too. Maybe he wanted more- hell, this was Spike, of course he wanted more. But he knew better than to ask. Knew better than to act. All she wanted was company, and silent, still company at that, and that was what he gave her.
She couldn't remember the last time they made love. Oh. Right. Just before she helped Riley destroyed his home.
No wonder he didn't believe her. He was right. She must not have loved him.
But he loved her, and she owed him this much. Memory. A place in her heart.
Ouch. Interesting that Buffy is finding herself feeling guilty over Spike after all this time. Dawn is right, too little too late. Or is it??
Nice to think that Spike's beloved Zippo survived.

I just wanted to think of Dawn being nun-ish. I was thinking of having her becoming all tattoo'ed and pierced and having a skanky boyfriend, but then I thought ... Dawn never does what we expect.

I changed one thing-- just added something about the locator spell being high=tech.

I agree--everyone is completely in character (if not at their personal best . . . and that gives them a chance to let us become happier with them later, right?).
