I got some great news last week, and I just haven't had time to post. Basically the huge (relatively speaking) tumor in my head is pretty much gone. My neurologist said because of the way my brain looks now (courtesy of an MRI), the tumor more than likely didn't penetrate my brain, it only compressed it. Because of this, my doctor also thinks I don't have cancer cells in the fluid around my brain and spine. That's not for certain, and I won't know until after the resevoir has been put into my head (yet another surgery, goodie). I'm hopeful I'll only have to do six weeks of the special chemo into my head profilacically, as opposed to treating cancer cells. It should help prevent my cancer from coming back in the five years before I'm declared completely cancer free. Hopefully for the rest of my life.
So that's all good news.
Friday was fun, I actually went out and did some things. Ian and I went and bought a few two player games so we can play video games together. The Sonic the Hedgehog game we got totally sucks, and I think we might trade that one back in. The other one, Perfect Darkness I think it's call, looks like fun, but we haven't tried it yet. I've been playing a lot of Legos Star Wars now, since Ian's beaten the game. It's really funny because suddenly I'm the one playing for hours in the evening and Ian's reading, a total role reversal. Plus, he's reading the Star Wars trilogy by Timothy Zahn. I'm so proud, they're his first Star Wars books, and he's totally hooked on them. : ) I knew I would wear him down eventually.
Saturday we explore two bookstores near our new place, Blue Moon Used Books and Third Place Books. I loved them both, Blue Moon because it reminded me of Mr. B's Bookery, and Third Place because it's an independent new and used bookstore. I was hoping to find one of those close by to support. I have a hard time going to Borders or Barnes and Noble, I'm totally an indy bookstore supporter. Plus there's this cool food court attached, and in the lower levels is one of the King County Library branches, so I was able to get a library card. : ) Ian thinks I'm crazy because I buy most of the books I read from the library anyway, but I love using the library. There's a branch in Kirkland, I can't wait to go explore it.
So that was my weekend and my exciting adventures out. As one of the Weasley twins said in the fourth Harry Potter movie "Go back to your knitting everyone..."
