(no subject)
well, i had my first day today at the new job. IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME! oh my gosh, being a full time journalist is awesome!!!!! i am so totally glad i did this major, it's totally for me! i was kind of tired all day, so i probably looked like a zombie, and i was a tad stressed out just cause i didnt know what i was doing really. my editor kept asking me if i was okay (i was, but i probably didnt look it). i wrote two articles today for wednesday's paper. see, this is the coolest party. i am THE reporter for the north end. not one of a few, or even one of two, im THE north end reporter. which means everything i write gets published. well, nearly everything. what i mean is, there's no competeing with others for space. the articles im writing are important. as important as everything else going in the paper. its a double edged sword, because i cant slack off, but everything i write is valued and published. so the complete opposite of the western front. plus, my editor loves awesome, creative leads that hook you into the story. none of this "the meeting was friday night at 7 and this is what happened" kind of leads. i mean really awesome, clever, fun leads. its going to take me a little while to beat back the oppresive and unartistic way the western front had us do things, but im excited to finally have a creative license. this job rocks my socks so much!!
