i hate my job

i am lying face down on a circular rug, in the middle of a wooden floor hallway at the top of a curved stairway in the grand entrance of a 2 million dollar home. the player piano recites its piano version of hotel california. i turn my head to rest on my right ear and stare at the stair railing.
what city am i in?..... not san diego... is it mission viejo.... where did i drive to this morning? oh yes. i am in that ridiculous super expensive model home in fucking temecula. the photographer i work for says this place is a joke and it's actually beneath him to even shoot it. here is a list of things i hate about model homes.
there is a gate surrounding the group of model homes called the trap gate. it "traps" people into going through the sales office in order the leave. it forces me to hop a fence 14 million times a day just to go to my car.

the people that look at model homes
"what do you mean i can't see this room, i'm a potential buyer, that's more important than your pictures"
"is this floor bamboo?"
"blah blah blah escrow(sp?) blah blah jim paid 1.5 blah"
most of the them only come in to get decorating ideas or they are just killing time. all of them act like im seriously inconveniancing them for blocking them out of one room.

the decorating
there is always a couple neat items in a home but really most of the decorating is as impossible to live in as the house is to afford. the bedroooms usually have themes like bowling, or shopping, sports.....
there was one room that had a tennis theme. it had a poster of anna kourna...(i dont' know) and in 2 foot lettering on the wall above the bed it spelled "tennis anyone?". i double dog dare anyone who is not completely retarded to walk into that room and not laugh.
there are:
champagne glasses filled with shells
frames equipped with family member to fit the theme of the room
different books with the same covers to match the color scheme.
other than shooting, the decorating is actually the only part of my job that i can enjoy and still hate.

for me the model home represents unacheivable cultural standards. it's a fucking trap that so many people fall for. only 1- 5% of the population can actually afford the homes i shoot. that doesn't seem to be stopping anyone from throwing there life away trying to keep up with mortgage payment on a home built in assembly line fashion in a town dreamed up by some the sims playing, marketing major/ pysch minor college grad creepazoid.
