Ok well I just figured out something insanely nuts. As most of you know, I'm moving to Seattle at the end of this summer and I'm driving either my car or a truck pulling my car, so I spent the last couple hours figuring out different routes and different places to see, etc. What I really wanted to do was go through Dallas and phoenix to LA, and then head straight up the coast to get to Seattle. Fortunatly, I looked at some maps before I decided on that course of action and realized that driving from bham-dallas-Santa Fe-Phoenix-LA-Seattle would take about 65 hours driving time and be about 4,200 miles. However if I take the quicker, boring route through the midwest and Montana, that will be about 2,700 miles over 40 hours.
And so I pose a question to myself; "Is seeing a few sights/cities/friends really worth an extra 25 hours and 1,500 miles?" At this time I'm leaning towards hell no, especially if I'm in a uhaul towing my damn car.
